Construction is a process consisting of the building and assembling of infrastructure. Construction is far from being a single activity and many individuals will play a role in the construction of any building. Individuals usually involved in overseeing a construction project would include but not be limited to a project manager, construction manager, design engineer, construction engineer, project architect, site agents, etc.
In any construction project the environmental impacts must be considered as well as successful:

- Logistics
- Construction delays
- Site cleaning
- Security
- Signage
In general there are 2 main types of construction:

- Industrial Construction
Building Construction is the process of adding structure to real property. Construction jobs can include small renovations, such as addition of a room or renovations. All building construction jobs have some elements in common

A construction project must fit into the legal framework governing the property, governmental regulations on the use of property and obligations that are created in the process of construction.
Construction projects must adhere to zoning and building code requirements and some legal requirement come from ‘malum in se’ considerations (things that are a matter of custom or expectation).
Isolating businesses to a business district and residences to a residential area.
A construction project is a very complex net of contracts and other legal obligations, each of which must be carefully considered.
The latest in the South African construction industry is that the construction industry will be going green. The new regulations are defined in the South African Bureau of Standards' SANS 10400 XA standard, and enforceable in terms of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act. A higher standard, SANS 204, remains voluntary.
Other important factors in construction and building include the material and tools used. |
