Boarding kennels or boarding cattering is a place where you pets, mostly dogs and cats are house temporarily, because they can not be kept at their owners homes for a certain period of time.
Boarding kennels and boarding catteries are mostly used in the following instances:
- When the owners are away on holiday
- When the owners are busy moving house or busy with renovations or building, and they don't want the move or building works to be to stressfull on the pets
- And even cases where the owner can not look after the pets for a certain amount of time due to health issues or hospitilization
Most kennels and catteries will try their best to reduce as much stress as possible to the animal by being in a new environment. Some kennels will have one on one playtimes outside of the kennel environmen to help with the stress. Familiar objects, such as toys and blankets are also welcome at most boarding kennels and catteries.
Another handy tip for owners that might be away for a long period of time is to do a trial period of a couple of days at the boarding kennels or cattery of their choice and then see how goes.
