What exactly is medical insurance? And why you need to be covered?
Medical insurance is very important to have, but sadly there are millions of South Africans who do not have medical insurance.
Most people argue that they do not visit the doctor that often and yes they have a point, but then ask yourself this:
- When you do get ill, do have the resources to visit a medical practitioner without a medical insurance scheme?
- Are you planning on having a family now or later? If so then having medical insurance is a must. Do yourself a favour and look into prices with regards to maternity care. You would be surprised at the costs involved here.
So if you are a 100% certain that you do not need medical cover for visiting your GP or Dentist for that matter and you do not plan to have a family now or anytime in the near future then perhaps you should consider getting hospital cover. Hospital cover will at the very least insure that you are taken to the best possible hospital in case of an accident. |
